A United Nations Security Council committee recently approved exemptions allowing food and medicine to flow into North Korea, diplomatic sources told AFP last week. The country has been under extensive Western sanctions for years, targeting sectors from oil imports to seafood exports in response to its nuclear weapons program.<\/p>\n
