There is no proof that money from the Libyan regime of Moamer Kadhafi was ultimately used in former French president Nicolas Sarkozy’s winning 2007 poll campaign, a court ruled Thursday.<\/p>\n
“For the court, the material elements have not been established that a corruption offence has been committed,” said presiding judge Nathalie Gavarino after Sarkozy was acquitted on corruption charges but found guilty of a criminal conspiracy.<\/p>\n
Sentencing is due to be announced later in the day.<\/p>\n
